Week 6: Information about the adjustment process

5 February was the deadline for submitting remedial proposals, and the Central Administration, the Faculty of Humanities and the Faculty of Engineering are now in the process of getting an overview of the submitted proposals.

From 21 January to 5 February, employees, union representatives and managers have had the opportunity to submit proposals seeking to limit the number of unsolicited redundancies. Among other things, employees have had the opportunity to enter into a dialogue with their manager about voluntary resignations, part-time, natural retirement and senior schemes.

At the same time, it has been possible, either using a form at sdunet.dk/budget2021 or through one’s manager, to make suggestions for operational savings or increased income.

In general, employees, union representatives and managers have shown a very large commitment in the remediation phase in relation to making proposals and uncovering the possibilities for voluntary resignations, etc.

The three main areas are currently working to get an overview of the requests received in relation to resignations, senior schemes and part-time, as well as received proposals for efficiencies and savings. On this basis, the main areas will decide on the final need for adjustments and how many employees will nominated for dismissal or notified about shorter hours.

The decision on the specific recommendations will be made in week 8 by the Dean at HUM, the Dean at TEK and the University Director in the Central Administration (decision and selection phase), respectively.

The phases of the further process
In week 9, we will enter the briefing phase. Here, the employees who are nominated for dismissal or changed working conditions in the form of relocation or reduction of working hours will be notified via a meeting of intent. In weeks 10 and 11 there will be a two-week consultative procedure consultation with the parties involved. Following this, the final decision on dismissal or changed working conditions will be made by the Rector in week 12 (the mitigation phase).

More info
The uncertainty about what the economic adjustments will mean for each employee can give rise to concerns, not least in a time where we are working from home and only get to meet each other digitally. Employees who have questions or need dialogue are welcome to contact their manager, their union representative or Human Resource Service.
