SDU’s project and portfolio network
The project and portfolio network evolves based on members’ wishes
How should SDU’s project and portfolio network evolve? 46 members shared their views in a questionnaire survey.
The survey shows clear support for the network and a wish for it to remain a community of practice for project work across SDU.
Shared learning and practical experience
Members of the network particularly ask for the opportunity to learn new methods and tools, gain inspiration for their own practice and exchange experiences with colleagues across SDU.
They do not primarily want traditional teaching. Instead, they ask for a combination of professional presentations, concrete examples from SDU, dialogue and exchange of experience.
The survey also shows that members have very different levels of experience with project work. Respondents include both new employees with limited project experience and experienced staff and managers. Several also work with change and improvement of workflows.
This creates good opportunities to bring different themes and experiences into play across SDU.
A shared language for project work
A recurring wish is for the network to contribute to a shared language for project work at SDU.
Members ask for shared methods and, at the same time, a forum where they can share experiences across faculties and common areas. In this way, the network can help create greater coherence in project work at SDU.
In-person meetings with a professional focus
Most respondents want 3–4 in-person events each year. They would also like to supplement the meetings with shorter webinars and workshops on specific topics.
The social and cross-organisational network is an important part of the value. At the same time, several point out that dialogue provides the greatest professional benefit when it starts from a specific question, a case or clear facilitation.
There is therefore also interest in testing different meeting formats.
Clear communication about events
Members want information about events, webinars and workshops well in advance.
They also ask for invitations to clearly describe:
- The event topic.
- The purpose of the event.
- The programme.
- What participants gain from taking part.
AI, change management and other current topics
Respondents pointed to a range of topics they would like to work on in the network. The most requested include:
- AI.
- Change management.
- Behavioural design.
- Communication and portfolio management.
- How to create impact and follow up on benefits.
- Half Double and SDU’s project model.
- Examples of how the methods can be used in practice.
Input for the network’s work in 2027
The questionnaire survey gives the planning group a good insight into who the members are and what they want from the network.
The planning group is now using the responses to adjust the activities. Members will primarily notice the new initiatives from 2027.
The project and portfolio network brings together staff and managers from across SDU and includes participants from both faculties and common areas.
