The AI decision-making framework
At the executive board meeting on 18 September 2025, the executive board approved the AI decision-making framework. With this decision, the university is taking an important step into a new digital reality where Artificial Intelligence (AI) is not just a technological trend, but a strategic necessity.
The question is no longer whether artificial intelligence will transform the university sector
Rather, it is about how we choose to actively shape that transformation. Based on SDU’s 2030 strategy and the many valuable contributions from employees across the organisation, the decision framework sets a shared direction for how we prioritise and develop our core areas with AI as a foundation.
The decision framework defines a vision to strengthen and evolve SDU’s activities through responsible, well‑considered, and innovative use of AI. It is not a stand‑alone initiative but a cross‑cutting catalyst intended to be integrated into strategic processes, organisational development, and quality work. It is a shared responsibility to ensure that AI becomes a lever for quality, efficiency, and innovation – to the benefit of students, employees, and society.
