Help with design and layout

If you have a task that requires graphic design, there is help available.

SDU Communications has developed templates for posters, leaflets and roll-ups that comply with SDU’s visual identity. If the templates do not meet your needs, you can commission a layout from the Graphics Centre.

  • The Graphic Centre helps you with professional design when your materials require the skills of a graphic designer. Here, you can get advice, layout and graphic design that follow SDU's visual identity.

    Use existing design templates

    Feel free to use SDU's PowerPoint and Word templates when you don't need custom design.

    If the templates are not sufficient, you can get help with:

    • Layout for posters, leaflets, reports etc.
    • Illustrations and visual elements.
    • Promotional material for e.g. Open Days.
    • Design of beach flags. The Graphic Centre does not produce beach flags, but can help with the layout and design of the flag, which you order from an external supplier, for example from skiltex.dk. Here you can download a template (with dimensions and format), which you should attach when ordering graphic help.
    • Video, e.g. screen recordings, infographic and explainer videos. Use 'The Cube' for camera-based productions.

    • Graphic design for merchandise, such as t-shirts, hoodies and other merchandise according to SDU's visual identity. We only deliver the print file - not the production.

  • Graphic help from SDU's graphic designers is primarily a service for the university's units and employees, but in special cases, external partners can get help - for a fee and according to specific guidelines. Below you can read more about who can get help - and on what terms.


    • As an SDU employee, you can get free help with your work-related tasks.

    • If you are employed both at SDU and another organisation, such as the Region of Southern Denmark, you can also get graphic help - but only for projects that clearly belong to SDU.

      This means that the unit or project you are ordering on behalf of must be part of SDU and that you must use your SDU email address when ordering.

      Graphic design services are free of charge for tasks carried out on behalf of SDU. If the task belongs to the external part of your employment, the general rules for external collaborators apply.

    • PhD students have the same terms as employees and can order graphic assignments, such as illustrations, figures and images.

      Graphic design services are free of charge for PhD students.

      Setup and printing of PhD dissertations is handled via templates and webshop.

    • Student organisations can receive graphic design assistance for materials related to activities and events associated with SDU.

      Student organisations must pay for design services through one of the following ordering options:

      • Through an employee in SDU Education, if it has been agreed between the organisation and SDU Education that SDU Education will cover the cost. Contact studentorg@sdu.dk to arrange this.
      • By paying directly through the order form.
      Order graphic help for student organisations

    • External partners can receive graphic assistance in special cases, but this is always against payment and according to fixed guidelines. The price is DKK 200 per 30 minutes or part thereof, excluding VAT.

      The Graphic Centre only solves tasks for external partners when there is a clear SDU connection. For example, if an event is being held at SDU, where the external party is required to have roll-ups produced in SDU's fire-retardant materials, or if the event is of particular interest to the university through publicity or partnership.

      No graphic work is carried out for external companies or organisations with no relation to SDU, as this would distort competition in relation to private graphic agencies.

      Order graphic help for external partners

  • In order for us to deliver the material on time, it is important that you order well in advance.

    As a starting point, the following minimum deadlines apply:

    • Smaller jobs, e.g. posters, flyers, roll-ups or postcards: at least 5 working days.
    • Larger tasks, e.g. reports, magazines, books or campaign material for Open Days: at least 6 weeks.

    We always assess the time required based on the scope of the task and agree on a realistic deadline together. We also take into account any partial deliverables such as proofing rounds or approvals along the way to ensure that everything is delivered on time.

  • To ensure an efficient process and a good result, it's important that all materials have been proofread before we begin.

    There is a maximum of three rounds of proofing per job, so make sure you send the final and approved material from the start. The text must be approved by all relevant stakeholders and content providers before you send it for set-up.

    Images for printed materials should be delivered in high resolution to ensure a sharp and professional quality in the finished product. If the image resolution is too low it will affect the result negatively.

    When text and images are in place from the start, we can stay on schedule and deliver the material on time.

All enquiries must be made by email or by appointment.

Pick-up zone

Printed materials can still be collected via the pick-up zone (at the end of Stenten, down the stairs).
