Emergency response and fire considerations

SDU is home to many buildings, activities and people, which is why it is crucial that we all contribute to a safe everyday life. Technical Services is responsible for a wide range of tasks within emergency preparedness, fire safety and prevention, and here we have gathered the most important guidelines, advice and practical information.

Fire considerations are an important part of safety at SDU. Here you can learn how to prevent fire through the correct use of materials, equipment and setup - in everyday life and on special occasions.

 

Technical Services manages the implementation and servicing of fire extinguishers and fire alarms, comprising:

  • CO2 extinguishers
  • Lithium battery extinguishers
  • Fire blankets
  • Fire hoses and fire cabinets
  • Fire alarm control panels
  • Fire sprinkler systems
  • Fire alarms and smoke detectors
  • Fire alarm call points
  • Inergen 'fire eater' systems
  • Ansul fire suppression systems in the canteen

Fire extinguishing equipment is ordered via 8888@sdu.dk,but Technical Services will assess whether it is necessary.

Emergency response

SDU has a collective procedure for emergencies. The aim of the collective emergency response plan is to provide a sense of security for the University's staff, students and visitors.
A number of topics have been put together in the collective emergency plan, which allows employees to find more detailed information and guidance about different emergency situations
