Rules for using grills
For the Odense, Kolding, Esbjerg and Sønderborg campuses, the following rules apply to the use of grills:
- Grills should always be placed 5 metres from buildings and other combustible material.
- Grills should be placed so that odours and smoke are not generated in buildings. Pay attention to open doors and
windows, as well as ventilation intakes. - The barbecue should be placed on a non-combustible surface and not directly on lawns or tables.
- Only charcoal or briquettes may be used in solid fuel grills.
- Only grill starters or firelighters may be used for lighting. Flammable liquids must not be used.
- Only cylinders up to 11kg may be used for gas grills.
- Water must always be available for extinguishing before starting the barbecue.
- Do not leave the grill until it is completely extinguished.
- Observe any burning bans, which must be followed.
As a general rule, the use of grills is not allowed at the Slagelse and Copenhagen campuses.
Barbecue areas and grill hire
At campus Odense, the use of grills is only allowed at selected barbecue areas.

There are three fixed grills that are free for all employees to use. They are located at the barbecue areas 3A, 3B and 3C by the TEK building, as shown on the map. The three grills cannot be booked.
Apart from these three grills , it is not possible to borrow a grill. You must bring your own if you want to use one of the remaining barbecue areas.
At campus Esbjerg, the Friday bar has a fixed grill. Anyone can use the grill and it is used on a first come, first served basis and cannot be booked.
You are also allowed to use a grill that you have brought yourself, as long as you follow the general rules for the use of grills.
An campus Kolding it is not possible to borrow a grill and there are no designated barbecue areas.

At campus Sønderborg, the Fredagsbar has a permanently installed grill. Anyone can use the grill and it is used on a first come, first served basis and cannot be booked.
