Study Administration

Administration Centre SBS/Social Sciences (ABSS)

A positive student journey through a social science programme is a central focus of the work carried out by the Education Administration.

We help ensure that the programmes at the faculty are supported by a professional and coherent education administration, with students, heads of study and academic environments at the centre. At the same time, we work closely with the faculty’s departments and with the central Student Services at SDU to ensure strong administrative frameworks for the programmes, both full-time and part-time.

The Education Administration serves the faculty’s boards of studies and supports heads of study and programme directors in their work on the operation, development and quality of the programmes. Among other things, we contribute through support for the boards of studies, administrative guidance, data foundations and process support in relation to programme development, admissions, capacity and student data.

The start of studies is an important focus area in the department. We plan and coordinate the start of studies at the faculty in close collaboration with student organisations, departments and heads of study. The aim is to give new students a strong start to their studies – academically, socially and practically – and to create the framework for an inclusive study environment from day one. In addition, we work with initiatives that support students’ well-being, retention and progression throughout their education.

The Education Administration consists of 23 employees across the campuses in Odense, Kolding and Esbjerg. The department is organised into teams working with study start, well-being and internationalisation, support for boards of studies and heads of study, as well as analysis, data, projects, admissions and continuing and further education.

Through close collaboration with boards of studies, heads of study, departments and central administrative units, the Education Administration helps create coherence and quality in the social science programmes at SDU.

You are always welcome to contact the Education Administration by writing to our shared mailbox samf-uddannelse@sam.sdu.dk or by contacting the department’s head and/or staff directly.

At the bottom of the page under “Who will you meet in the department?” you will find an overview of staff, as well as contact details for both staff and boards of studies.
