State education grant (SU) study activity inspection

The state education grant’s (SU) study activity inspection can give rise to enquiries in many areas within the study organisation.

The state education grant (SU) team is currently carrying out the biannual SU study activity inspection.  According to SU regulations, students may have a maximum delay of 30 ECTS in their programme. The delay is calculated on the basis of the number of monthly SU grants the student has used on their pro-gramme, measured in relation to the number of ECTS credits the student has attained on their pro-gramme.
Between 4 and 5 April 2023, the Danish Agency for Higher Education and Science will send out consultation letters on the possible discontinuation of the SU grant from 1 May 2023 for students who do not meet the activity requirement. The SU team is issuing communication via various channels about how affected students should respond.

If a student has been granted dispensation by the Study Board, they should be aware that it does not apply to SU.
If a student is delayed by more than 30 ECTS credits, their SU will be stopped, regardless of whether they have been granted study-related dispensation from the Study Board. The student can resume their SU once the delay has been made up.

If a student has been delayed due to illness or other special circumstances during a period when he or she has received SU, the student can apply for additional monthly grant payments.

Please refer any enquiries to the SU team at SDU. Students will find the SU team’s website via the menu on their study page at mitsdu.dk/su.
