SDU's Master's Thesis Award

Theses submitted between June 1 of the preceding year and June 1 of the current year may be considered for the prize. The thesis must be assessed by the nomination deadline of July 1.

In the evaluation of nominated candidates, emphasis will be placed on the extent to which the thesis:

• is conducted at a high academic level that goes beyond the ordinary
• is academically innovative, for example in its choice of topic or methodological approach
• has the potential to create value for society

A student's thesis can be nominated by the thesis supervisor. The nomination deadline is July 1.

From the total pool of nominations, the Academic Council at each faculty selects one candidate to represent the faculty for SDU’s Master's Thesis Award.

The Council for Education then ranks the five nominated candidates Based on this recommendation, the Executive Board makes the final decision on the award recipient.

The winner is announced at SDU’s Annual Celebration.

The prize is awarded as a personal prize, and the winner receives DKK 25,000. In the event that multiple students have written the thesis jointly, the amount will be divided among them.
