On the day of the Annual University Celebration, the Section for Molecular Microbiology will have the honour to host a talk by this year’s Honorary Doctor at the Faculty of Science, Professor Kimberly Kline from University of Geneva. The talk will take place at the BMB Seminar Room. Please reserve the date. A flyer with the title and abstract of the talk will be sent out soon. We are looking forward to seeing many of you!
Kimberly Kline is a professor in the Department of Microbiology and Molecular Medicine at the University of Geneva. She has previously held senior academic and leadership positions at Nanyang Technological University, Singapore, including full frofessor, associate dean for faculty, associate chair for students, and deputy research director of the Biofilm Biology Cluster at the Singapore Centre on Environmental Life Sciences Engineering.
Professor Kline is an internationally leading scientist in molecular microbiology, infection biology, biofilm-associated infection, host–pathogen interactions, and antimicrobial resistance. Her research addresses one of the most urgent biomedical challenges of our time: how bacteria persist and survive despite modern medicine’s best interventions.
In recognition of her scientific excellence, Professor Kline was elected Fellow of the American Academy of Microbiology in 2025 and Fellow of the European Academy of Microbiology in 2026.
