Humanities introduces a new structure for programme pages on sdu.dk

The Faculty of Humanities’ bachelor’s programmes, master’s programmes and part-time master’s programmes for working professionals have now been incorporated into SDU’s new structure for programme pages on sdu.dk. The new structure is designed to help prospective students explore their options and find the right programme for them.

SDU’s range of study options has become more complex, with more campus locations, specialisations and programme types – and the reform of master’s programmes will introduce even more versions of the same programme.

At the same time, many prospective students find a programme directly through a search rather than by navigating the menus on sdu.dk. The new structure therefore brings related programmes and their different versions together under shared entry pages, making it easier to explore and compare options within the same subject area – whichever programme they find first.

Improved communication with prospective students
At the Faculty of Humanities, the restructuring has been carried out by HUM Communication and covers a total of 357 pages across bachelor’s programmes, master’s programmes and part-time master’s programmes for working professionals.

The content of the bachelor’s programme pages was improved in 2025. The current project has extended the same structure and systematic approach to master’s programmes and part-time master’s programmes for working professionals, with HUM Communication also undertaking extensive work to develop the content.

The focus has been on explaining the academic content of each programme and giving prospective students a sound basis for assessing whether it matches their interests and academic background, what student life is like and which career opportunities it could lead to.Search engine optimisation has also been a priority, with the aim of improving the programmes’ visibility in search engines and AI services.

A clearer overview of options and choices
The new structure varies from programme to programme.

Negot is one example of a shared entry page bringing together several versions of a programme. The master’s programme and its part-time version for working professionals are presented together, with the five master’s specialisations clearly highlighted. This gives applicants a clear overview of their options and the choices they need to make during the application process.

The restructuring has also focused on tailoring information to different audiences. Programmes taught in English now have fully developed Danish-language pages aimed at Danish applicants, while the English-language pages are aimed at international applicants.

Similarly, the content of the pages for part-time master’s programmes for working professionals has been tailored to address the specific information needs and questions of these students and their employers.

A foundation for the programme portfolio of the future
The restructuring has given the Faculty of Humanities a common foundation for presenting its programmes on sdu.dk. This will support current student recruitment while making it possible to incorporate new programmes and programme types as the reform of master’s programmes takes effect.
