Previously held session: ERC information meeting – Identification of applicants for the ERC Starting and Consolidator program

When: November 18, 2025, from 9:00 to 11:00 o`clock

 

What: In collaboration with the other faculties at SDU, the HEALTH faculty will hold an ERC information meeting for early-career researchers.

A Master Class will be held in spring 2026 for candidates who have been selected by the heads of departments and who aim to submit applications for the upcoming deadlines in 2026/27.

The expected application deadlines in 2026 are in October for the ERC Starting Grant and in January 2027 for the ERC Consolidator Grant.

ERC Starting Grant (ERC StG) supports early-career researchers who are in the process of establishing their own research team (PhD awarded 2–7 years ago). A competitive candidate already has independent research experience, documented by at least one international publication without their PhD supervisor. They must also demonstrate contributions to their research field through conferences, networks, and awards. A successful applicant must be able to dedicate at least 50% of their time to the ERC project. You can read more here.

ERC Consolidator Grant (ERC CoG) supports researchers who are in the process of building or consolidating their own research team (PhD awarded 7–12 years ago). A competitive candidate must be able to document independent research activity through several key international publications as lead author and without their PhD supervisor. In addition, the CV should demonstrate other contributions to the research field, such as invited talks at conferences, receipt of awards, etc. A successful applicant must be able to dedicate at least 40% of their time to the ERC project. Who: The meeting is aimed at researchers who may be potential applicants for the ERC Starting Grant and ERC Consolidator Grant. The information meeting is open to all interested parties.
