About the Carlsberg Foundation Interdisciplinary Research Centers

The Carlsberg Foundation will grant up to four Carlsberg Foundation Interdisciplinary Research Centers, each of a maximum of DKK 50 million. Each center is to provide a framework for outstanding basic research and ground-breaking collaboration between and across at least two of the three research areas supported by the Carlsberg Foundation: natural sciences, social sciences and humanities.

The centers must address complex questions and challenges that can be explored and advanced across faculties and, ideally, universities. The Carlsberg Foundation will prioritize applications for centers that best demonstrate opportunities and potential for interdisciplinary collaboration while outlining concrete projects and describe the long-term sustainability of their research efforts.

Applications are invited from teams of two to three tenured researchers (associate professors, senior researchers or full professors). Applicants must represent at least two of the three research areas supported by the Carlsberg Foundation: the natural sciences, the social sciences and the humanities.
