What: The Danish Council for Independent Research (DFF) is hosting three webinars on April 1st, 2nd, and 3rd, 2025 for those considering applying for research funding from the council's thematic calls in 2025. The webinars will be held in English and will include an overview of the politically determined themes, an introduction to the council's new thematic instrument, the requirements for your application, and the assessment criteria that your application will be evaluated against. In 2025, the Danish Council for Independent Research will allocate funds for thematic research within the following themes:
- Research on artificial intelligence
- Research on learning and well-being in primary schools
- Research on vulnerability and poor well-being
- Green research
- Research in psychiatry
- Strengthened research in specialized social services
- Strengthened clinical and independent research
- Research on elderly and ageing
The content is the same for all three webinars and will cover the following topics:
- Overview of the politically determined themes in 2025
- Introduction to the council's new thematic instrument
- General requirements for your application
- Assessment criteria and evaluation process
- Application system: E-grant
- Interviews with selected chairpersons of the thematic committees:
Tuesday, April 1st: Chairpersons for "Research on aging, vulnerability, and poor well-being" (Mattias Strandh), "Strengthened clinical and independent research" (Kaare Christensen), and "Research on learning and well-being in primary schools" (Ane Qvortrup)
Wednesday, April 2nd: Chairpersons for "Research on artificial intelligence" (Ira Assent) and "Green research" (Jan O. Jeppesen)
Thursday, April 3rd: Chairpersons for "Psychiatric research" (Mikael Landén), "Strengthened research in the specialized social area" (Ulla-Karin Schön), and "Arctic research – Climate change and sustainable Arctic communities" (Thomas Ingeman-Nielsen)
Please note that "Research on learning and well-being in primary schools" with chairperson Ane Qvortrup has been moved to the webinar on Tuesday, April 1st.
Who: The webinars are aimed at potential applicants and others who may be interested in learning more about the thematic calls.
Where: The webinars will be held via Zoom. Please note that there is a maximum capacity of 1,000 participants per webinar.
