Signage at rooms and offices in the new HEALTH building

All rooms in the new HEALTH building will receive a sign with a number. In addition, the signs can also be equipped with information such as room function, room name or employee names.

By Bente Kjær, 1/30/2023

The naming of rooms in the new HEALTH building is covered by the ØV-numbering system, which means that all rooms in the new faculty building will have an ØV-number, in line with the rest of Campus Odense.

The ØV-number is displayed on a sign in a frame on or next to the door of the room.

Technical Service has placed an ØV-number on all rooms when moving in, as it will be used for labeling the contents of moving boxes, furniture, and equipment.

Who is in the office?

As a supplement to the ØV-number, each unit can add additional information to the signs on the rooms that the unit is responsible for.

This could be the function of a room or the name of a conference room. It could also include the names of the employees who use a specific office.

If a unit wants to indicate names or functions of different rooms, the unit must provide and install the signs in the existing frames themselves.

Doing so, it is important that the original ØV-number is still visible and not changed.

If an employee, for example, moves from one office to another, the sign should not be removed, as the ØV-number will not match the new room. A new sign with updated information must be printed.

Below you will find additional information about the naming of rooms in the new HEALTH building. Please note that most of the information at this time is only available in Danish.

In the new HEALTH building, units can, as on the rest of Campus Odense, add/change the content on the signs for the rooms they control.

The signs with the ØV numbers allow for additional information to be added, such as the room's function or the name(s) of the employee(s) in an office, possibly supplemented with a unit name.

Upon moving in

Upon moving in, there may not necessarily be any content on the signs, but Technical Service will always have indicated the ØV number at a minimum, as it is needed for labeling the destination on moving boxes, furniture, and equipment.

Be aware that the ØV number is fixed and must always correspond to the room it was originally assigned to.

If an employee moves from one office to another, the sign should NOT be taken with them as the ØV number will not match the new location. A new sign should be printed with the name and other information replaced.

The naming of the teaching rooms in the new HEALTH building will follow the same template as the rest of Campus Odense.

Each level/floor will have its own numbering series in the naming of the teaching rooms, including group rooms and study cells:

  • Level 0: U200
  • Level 1: U300
  • Level 2: U400

Teaching Rooms on Campus Odense

The template for naming teaching rooms on Campus Odense is a U followed by a number. For example, U60.

As renovations and extensions have been carried out, the original logic in the numbering sequence has been broken in several places on Campus.

Thus, there is not a consistent ascending sequence in the numbers from south to north in the building mass, but rather jumps in the numbers in several places where teaching rooms have either been closed or created in response to changing needs.

When creating teaching rooms in new building sections, the numbering sequence in that cluster will be consistent, while new rooms in existing buildings have been fitted in with the addition of letters.

For example, U30 appears on level 1 at Stenten, while U30A, which was added later, appears on the floor above.

The naming of the meeting rooms in the new HEALTH building is based on a logic that connects them to their location in the building:

  • Level 0: M-0.10
  • Level 1: M-1.10
  • Level 2: M-2.10

M stands for meeting room. The first number indicates the level/floor. The last number indicates the number of the meeting room.

Meeting rooms on Campus Odense

The naming of the meeting rooms on Campus Odense bears the imprint of different eras and actors.

Some faculties and departments have attempted to indicate coherence with research areas or work areas in their naming, while other meeting rooms have been named more neutrally.

All shared meeting rooms will appear in the overview that is available when scheduling meetings in Outlook.
