Journalism and press work
We are passionate about writing and spreading the good stories about our wise researchers and talented students who help make a difference. Either through our own channels or through press work.

Focusing on the best stories through groundbreaking research, fascinating people, and everyday life at TEK
We tell the great stories about research, daily life and the people at TEK through articles, press releases, videos and social media posts.
Our team’s work supports the department’s overall goal of recruiting more engineering students and attracting talented teachers and researchers to TEK in Odense and Sønderborg. We achieve this primarily through the communication of research projects. Through articles on SDU’s website and social media posts, we share the journey of these projects – from when the researchers receive their grants, during their work and, of course, when they reach their results. And if the stories warrant it, we ensure that the research gains exposure in the media as well.
In addition to research, we also write about life at TEK and the thousands of students who make TEK their home. This means you can also read about the start of the academic year, when the Minister of Education visits, companies on the hunt for interns or when curious high school students become university students for a day.
We work according to standard news criteria, with a particular emphasis on relevance – that is, how TEK’s activities make a difference in society and the world. We do this through words and images, but increasingly through video, which works especially well for social media posts.
While our aim is to communicate about research, people and everyday life at TEK through Danish press and social media, we are increasingly looking to reach an international audience.
Beyond this external focus, the team also produces a newsletter – TEK Update – which is sent out to all staff at TEK six times a year.
At Team Journalism, we are available for press consulting, assistance and advice on media contact, communication through various channels and the dissemination of research and projects.
Contact Sebastian Wittrock or Sune Holst if you need help with press and communication tasks.
