Attracting talented young people

The Recruitment team at TEK Communication consists of four passionate employees who work to attract and retain talented students to the engineering programmes at SDU in Sønderborg and Odense.

The team is the driving force and coordinating function behind a range of exciting activities and events that aim to inspire young people to explore the many facets of engineering. The team targets both Danish and international audiences by visiting educational institutions and education fairs in both Denmark and abroad and by organising a wide range of campus visits.

With a strong focus on innovation and creativity, the team works to nuance the view of the engineering profession. They show how engineering programmes open doors to a wide range of career opportunities, from technological development to sustainable solutions and much more. Through targeted communication and engaging events, they spread knowledge about the myriad of engineering programmes.

The Ambassador Corps, made up of engineering students, plays a crucial role in the team's work. They deliver professional workshops and act as role models and public faces, making them an important part of recruitment efforts.

Who are we?

Lise Kanstrup

Lise is the team coordinator for Team Recruitment, and she focuses on coordinating and implementing the team's tasks, objectives, finances and development initiatives. In addition, Lise coordinates workshops, presentations and events in Sønderborg, such as TEK Expo and Faldskærm i Fart. Lise also supports the department manager with development and operational tasks.

Lise works closely with high schools and schools to promote technical and scientific interest among young people, and she also represents SDU TEK in external collaborations such as House of Science and Engineer the Future or as project manager on externally funded projects.

Ulf Rasmussen

Ulf coordinates large SDU events such as Open Days, student internships and Forskningens Døgn, which require extensive planning. In addition, Ulf is the team's representative in the collaboration with Akademiet for Talentfulde Unge (ATU), and he coordinates presentations and workshops for both ATU and general upper secondary school classes.

Ulf is the department's administrative expert when it comes to the process of hiring and paying student ambassadors. Finally, Ulf is a keen proofreader and language nerd, helping to ensure correct newsletters and articles, for example.

Lea works with the recruitment of German and Danish students at TEK Communication. Lea is responsible for recruitment activities in Germany, which includes coordinating the faculty's participation in German education fairs and visits to high schools. In addition, Lea is working on spreading bridging activities such as workshops and internships to German high schools.

Furthermore, she coordinates all Students for a Day visits to TEK in Sønderborg, both Danish and international, as well as student internships, Online Open Days and Open Days in Sønderborg.

Mette Høyberg Qvarfot

Mette is responsible for the large corps of student ambassadors in Odense, including recruitment and onboarding, and she works to ensure that the ambassadors represent the faculty and engineering programmes authentically and credibly in bridging and marketing activities. Mette also coordinates events such as IT Camp for girls, Science Day and high school visits as well as all Students for a day visits to TEK in Odense.

Moreover, Mette is responsible for several of the team's digital tasks, for example as editor of the activity pages for the individual bridging activities on sdu.dk and for the two newsletters sent to potential Danish students and Danish upper secondary school teachers.
