Portfolio of tasks

TEK Education are responsible for the administration of study- and education programmes at the Faculty of Engineering. They support the faculty’s education management (director of studies, heads of programmes and academic study board) as well as the faculty’s students. TEK Education are also responsible for the administration of the faculty’s PhD School and support the PhD School management (head of the PhD School and the PhD Committee).

TEK Education - Staff
TEK Education – Staff supports the faculty’s education management (director of studies, heads of programmes, the academic study board as well as the head of the PhD School and the PhD Committee) in the work with the faculty’s bachelor of engineering programmes and bachelor and master of science in engineering programmes, PhD education, further and continuing education programmes and the admission course for the engineering programmes.

Development of education and -statistics
Work concerning quality in education including: Accreditation, prequalification, surveys, and analysis, programme reports and status meetings.

Education economics
Work concerning income from educational activities including: STAA-Prognosis, STAA-Accounts, development in TEK Manager and analyses of STAA-data.

Pedagogical Development 
The educational consultants support the pedagogical and didactic development of the engineering education through training of academic staff and by supporting pedagogical development projects in the engineering programmes.

Study Start and Counselling
Coordination and planning of study start for the bachelor’s and master’s programmes, and the admission course. TEK Education offers counselling for potential students and specific counselling about study programmes for admitted students. Moreover, PhD coaching is placed in TEK Education.

Internationalization and recruitment
The tasks are divided into two focus areas: One is the administration and development of international partnerships and exchange of students, including development and coordination of the international part of the summer school. The second is the recruitment of international students through building and maintaining agent collaborations, participation in education fairs, webinars and other recruitment activities.

Academic Study Board, Admission and Legality
Administrative support for the Academic Study Board, including case handling of applications from students for exemptions and credit transfer, advisory function for the faculty management and staff in educational matters, including legal matters, hearing statements for the faculty to laws, ministerial orders, university regulations, etc. Moreover, TEK Education ensure that the faculty’s curricula and course description meet quality and legal requirements, provide support on the use of ODIN, and set the framework for student enrolment together with the faculty management and planning and implementation of test-based admission.

PhD School 
Administrative support for the faculty’s PhD Committee and the head of the PhD School, including case handling of applications from PhD students for exemptions and credit transfer, advisory function for the faculty management and staff in educational matters, including legal matters, hearing statements for the faculty to laws, ministerial orders, university regulations, etc.  Development and support regarding the study administrative system PhDManager/PhDWeb. Moreover, TEK Education ensure that the faculty’s PhD education meet quality and legal requirements, carry out surveys and evaluations, and set the framework for student enrolment together with the faculty management.

TEK Programme Coordination and - Support
Support the day-to-day running of the engineering programmes including timetable planning and planning of exams and teaching.

Programme Coordinators
Coordinate the centrale administrative processes by delegation from the director of studies and head of programme (programme coordination, counselling of students on academic matters, and on education quality and development). Moreover, the programme coordinators provide specialist knowledge on administrative matters and prepares input for student cases to the academic study board.

Programme Secretaries - exams and Programme Secretaries – timetable 
The programme secretaries support the faculty’s academic staff and students in relation to the planning and execution of the education activities, e.g. timetables and exams.
