Maternity/paternity leave at the Department

If you are going on maternity or paternity leave, you must contact Lone Nørgaard Bruun.

Before birth

You must inform Lone of pregnancy and expected due date no later than three months before the expected birth. This applies to both expectant mothers and fathers. SDU HR will be notified, and you will receive guidance on your options for parental leave.

After birth

Once the child is born, you must contact Lone again with the date of birth. No later than eight weeks after the birth, you must send her your planned parental leave schedule. Lone will forward the information to SDU HR, who will prepare an official parental leave plan and send it to you via your SDU email.

If there are any changes to the parental leave plan, you must inform Lone.
