Exercise during working hours

As an employee at the Department of Biology, you have the opportunity to use two 30-minute sessions per week for exercise, as long as it takes place in the middle of the day and preferably together with one or more colleagues. The purpose is to give you a break during the workday and at the same time strengthen the social environment at the Department.

If your activity lasts longer than 30 minutes, you can combine the two sessions into one 60-minute session per week, for example for swimming or running. However, you cannot carry over unused exercise time from one week to the next.

Activities such as stretching, mindfulness, and potentially other forms of exercise also count, subject to agreement with the head of department.

If you wish to exercise more than this, you need to use flex time and make sure it doesn’t interfere with your work tasks or collaboration with others.
