Classification and Labelling of Dangerous Chemicals

CLP or the CLP-regulation is the new European regulation on Classification, Labelling, and Packaging of chemical substances and mixtures.

CLP deals with the dangers of chemical substances and mixtures. If a substance or mixture is hazardous, it must be labelled in order for workers and consumers to know of its effects before handling it.

CLP introduces new hazard pictograms which differ from the existing/old symbols which have been used in accordance to the Dangerous Substance Directive.

The old R and S sentences are replaced by new H and P sentences.
