The Mechanical
Workshop develops, invents, modifies, and produces all kinds of scientific
equipment in close cooperation with researchers and students that need special
equipment that cannot be bought as finished products.
The Mechanical Workshop
also repairs a wide range of different laboratory equipment and works closely
together with the Electronics Workshop because a lot of the equipment
combines mechanical and electronic parts.
Please bring a drawing or sketch when you come see us. It does not have to be very elaborate. We usually draw the project in 3D anyway since we are using the different parts to create tool paths. After it has been drawn in 3D, it is easy for you to see how the final result will be, and we can easily make adjustments if needed.
The Whole Story
When you make an order, it is very important that you tell us how and where the product is going to be used and in which environment, such as temperature, alkaline or acid, electrical properties, salt water, cold, heat, etc. as it is crucial to the choice of materials. Or is it going to be shipped somewhere? How is it going to be packed, weight, length, etc.?
Arrive well in advance
It is incredibly important that you arrive well in advance. We have many users and some tasks are very time consuming. Some materials can also be difficult to get from day to day.We do also repair a wide range of different laboratory equipment in close cooperation with the Electronics Workshop.
For example, we repair:
- Centrifuges
- Gel basins
- Table autoclaves
- Vacuum pumps
- Etc.
However, we do not repair the equipment if it is in poor condition.
Please remember to clean the equipment before handing it in.
