Review project off to a good start
SDU’s quality system is to be revised. Is it important for you? Or is it a bit like being told that the canteen will be getting new curtains in 2026?
You are unquestionably in touch with the quality system in one way or another. The quality system defines how we work with developing education programmes and it covers all parts of the student’s path through education and the surrounding structures, ranging from study start to the quality of teaching, the study environment and administration to the transition to employment.
The best quality system is possibly the one that nobody notices, but that just works. However, this means that it must always fit the current needs.
What is going to happen?
The Council for Education has decided that the system needs to be reviewed, and the Executive Board has approved the plan for the review project. The process is due to be completed by 2025, and key stakeholders will be invited to take part in the work along the way. This applies to students, programme managers and the administrative staff who work with the system on a daily basis and translate it into reality.
Over the years, the quality system has become large and complex. A complete upending of the system is not the plan, but the review will aim to make the system better to work with and easier to adapt. It is important that SDU continually has a quality system that easily and meaningfully supports the work with education programmes.
