Uniform at Work Day

27 September to be national Uniform at Work Day

To honour and pay tribute to military reservists and volunteers in Denmark’s overall defence and emergency readiness (the so-called total-defence concept), a national uniform day is to be held on 27 September. The University of Southern Denmark supports the initiative, and everyone is welcome to show up in uniform on the day.

On Wednesday 27 September, Uniform at Work Day will be held for the first time in Denmark. From this year forward, the day will be celebrated on the last Wednesday of September. As a state institution, the University of Southern Denmark supports the initiative, and you are therefore welcome to show up in uniform on the day.

Minister of Defence Troels Lund Poulsen has sent letters to Danish military reservists and volunteers in the Danish Armed Forces, the Home Guard, the Danish Emergency Management Agency and the Coastal Search and Rescue Service, encouraging them to participate in Uniform Day.

The purpose of Uniform at Work Day is to create a dialogue with colleagues and fellow students about your efforts in the service of Denmark.
