New canteen partner brings new initiatives to Odense campus
SDU has entered into an agreement with Jespers Torvekøkken, which will take over responsibility for canteen and café operations in Odense from 1 January 2025.
All areas where students, employees and guests buy food and drinks will have a new look with a new visual identity and new offers.
The large canteen on campus will be called The Central Canteen and will have a new look that will provide a better overview of the offerings. The offerings will be characterised by green and organic produce and focus on seasonal ingredients.
The small canteen, Food Hack, will be called The Sourdough Square and will have a completely new range of fresh baked goods, from butter-baked croissants to wholemeal buns and whipped cream cakes to cookies and wholemeal rye bread.
The two small coffee shops at the main entrance and at the tram station will both be called Nearby Coffee, and they too will have a new range of products in addition to barista coffee.
At SUND, Milestone Deli will have a wide range of easy meals to go, so you don't have to go to The Central Canteen for a quick meal.
At TEK, Retro Deli will open and will offer freshly prepared food and a wide range of snacks and sandwiches.
In general, the offerings at each outlet on campus will be more diverse and specialised than before. The green ambitions are also higher with 60 per cent organic food on offer.
SDU and Jesper's Torvekøkken expect to say goodbye to disposable cups with a sustainable recycling scheme. The scheme will work via an app. You can choose to borrow the cup free of charge for 14 days and then return it. You can also choose to keep it and be charged DKK 35. In the app, you can also find the menus of the day at the various eateries.
More information about the app and the recycling scheme at the outlets in January.
