New organisation of the study administration – close dialogue and continuous updates

Last week, Director Thomas Buchvald Vind and Deputy Director of Studies Stinne Hørup Hansen met with education administration staff at the five faculties and Central Administration. The purpose was to provide an update on the work of organising the study administration in a new way – and not least to listen to the questions and input that the employees brought.

We have received many good questions and input at the meetings. It's important for us to have a close dialogue with those of you who know the tasks in practice, says Stinne Hørup Hansen.

This also applies to the conversations that have now begun with faculty employees about their upcoming relocation and task portfolio. Here too, we're pleased with the dialogue and the input that we'll take into further work.

What was important at the meetings?

During the meetings, the main questions were about the working environment, management and proximity to the professional environment. Many employees are concerned about how the move will affect their everyday lives, who will be their line manager and closest colleagues, and how collaboration with both current and new colleagues will work.

We are of course aware that moving can be a big change for the individual employee if they have been closely linked to a faculty, certain programmes and a collegial community for many years, continues Stinne Hørup Hansen.

That's why it's crucial for us that employees feel welcomed and have time to settle into their new teams. This is why the affected employees will remain in the same physical location and perform tasks within a familiar framework for the first three months after the new organisation comes into effect on 1 January. At the same time, we will maintain the proximity to the academic environments as part of the organisation so that lecturers and students can easily find their way to the right contact persons in the programme administration, emphasises Stinne Hørup Hansen.

Follow the process on SDUnet

On the project's page on SDUnet, you can find a new update every week that summarises what is happening in the process and how the work is progressing. These will be concrete updates that provide insight into where the project stands and what the next steps are.
