New web universe brings together SDU's resources on research integrity and ethics

On SDUnet, you can now find a single point of access to guides, policies, services, and contact points that support responsible research at SDU. The web universe is intended as a quick shortcut - both for researchers and for administrative staff who support research. And in May, you can experience an exhibition on the same topic in the library's Atrium courtyard.

Research ethics, integrity and compliance are increasingly important in everyday life - in everything from project planning and data management to funding applications, collaboration agreements and publishing. That's why SDU has gathered knowledge and tools in a new web universe where you can orientate yourself and find the right next step without having to search across many different pages.

The web universe has been created to make it easier to get an overview of SDU's research ethics landscape and points you to relevant resources when you have a specific question - or just want to make sure you are updated on good practice.

Six themes you can click into

The site is structured so you can navigate directly to the area that matches your situation. You will find, among other things:

  • Good research practice and responsible conduct of research - e.g. good practice frameworks, conflicts of interest and relevant resources.
  • Research ethics reviews and approvals - help with understanding standards and ethical review/approval options.
  • Legal and compliance - e.g. GDPR, contracts, funding conditions, research security and responsible use of AI.
  • Open science and research data - support for transparent and responsible research, including data management and information security.
  • Legislation, guidelines and organisations - overview and links to key national and international frameworks, such as the updated Danish Code of Conduct for Research Integrity.
  • Research assessment - guidance on responsible conduct of research assessment and principles that support quality and integrity.

In other words, you can quickly find what's relevant to your project, your role and your next choice.

Part of the HR Excellence initiative - and continuously developed

The initiative is part of SDU's HR Excellence efforts to support a good and professional research environment. The web universe is based on input from the workshop "Towards an even stronger research ethics profile at SDU", where key people in the field contributed - and the pages are currently being qualified and expanded.

Experience the exhibition in the library's Atrium courtyard

Want a physical introduction and a quick overview? Later this month, an exhibition about SDU's research ethics universe will be set up in the library's Atrium courtyard in Odense.

The exhibition focuses on why research integrity is crucial. It also shows that we as a university have concrete resources that can support high research quality in practice.

The exhibition can be experienced from 28 April to 27 May 2026.
