Collective agreement

OK24 – new rules on pension and accrued leave

In the collective labour agreement in the state sector, changes have been agreed on increased flexibility in relation to pension and accrued leave, which will come into effect in spring 2025.

SDU has not yet received the final agreements, which must be in place before we can incorporate the changes.

SDU HR will continuously inform about the new rules as the circulars are issued, including how employees should act if they wish to receive or save up pension payments and accrue leave.

The following changes apply:

Pension

From 1 April 2025, the pension contribution rate will increase in a number of collective agreement areas and agreements in the state, including AC (the Danish Confederation of Professional Associations), HK (the Union of Commercial and Clerical Employees in Denmark), laboratory technicians, PROSA (the Association of IT professionals) and craftsmen.

In the future, it will be possible for pension contributions above 15% to be paid out as salary or paid into a savings scheme in the pension fund.

As a basis, full pension contributions will continue to be the norm. If you want payment as salary or payment into a savings scheme in the pension fund, this must be selected separately. More information will follow.

Accrual leave

As of 1 May 2025, employees will be able to accrue leave.

Leave in the form of special holidays and time off in lieu can be accrued according to specific regulations.

At any given time, a maximum of 15 days off can be accrued, of which a maximum of 8 days can be time off in lieu.

More information about the administration of the rules will follow.

Update on special holidays

In March, SDU HR sent out an email regarding the planning of special holidays for the coming holiday year.

The deadlines for planning special holidays will be eliminated.

This is to take into account the option of saving up special holidays under the new rules for accruing leave, which are expected to come into force on 1 May 2025.

Employees still have the option to schedule the special holidays if they choose to.

Salary adjustments

From 1 April 2025, salary adjustments will be made to a number of collective agreement areas and agreements in the state.

The adjustment is done automatically via the payroll system.
