Announcement on the framework for the administrative organisation and the further process

At its meeting on 16 April 2026, the steering committee decided on the framework for the future administrative organisation of SBS and SAMF based on the working group's recommendations.

The future administrative organisation

The administrative organisation follows the working group's recommendations, which have been adjusted based on the responses in the consultation period. The detailed recommendations are only available in Danish and can be found here: https://sdunet.dk/da/service/business-school/beslutning (in Danish only).

The organisation has been chosen to ensure a stable and well-functioning start-up for both SBS and SAMF. The organisation can meet the current needs for administrative resources and task solving, while at the same time providing flexibility for the organisation to mature and adapt as the two faculties develop. Therefore, the administrative organisation will be assessed and evaluated on an ongoing basis to ensure that the administrative organisation continues to meet the faculties' needs over time.

The administration is organised in a model with a division of tasks between the two faculties and in a joint administration centre, as well as in collaboration with the central administration.

Faculty administrations at SBS and SAMF

Two independent faculty administrations will be established at SBS and SAMF, respectively, each of which will be headed by a level 2 manager. Administrative tasks that are currently handled in the department secretariats at IEB and IVL will be placed in the faculty administration at SBS in the future. The current Dean's Office is divided into the two faculty administrations.

Shared administration centre

An administration centre with joint ownership will be established, where the administrative units (except the Dean’s office) currently located in the faculty administration will be gathered. The administration centre serves both SBS and SAMF.

The managerial and organisational responsibility for the administration centre is delegated from the deans to the level 2-manager at SAMF, Torben Durck Johansen. The leadership will take place in close collaboration with the level 2-manager at SBS and the two deans.

The consultation period emphasized the need to establish a common culture in the administration centre with a focus on serving both SBS and SAMF. To support this, a joint management ambition and governance for the collaboration in the administration centre will be drawn up, with a focus on clarifying mutual expectations, areas of cooperation, and frameworks for tasks.

Web communication

As a principal, the steering committee has also decided that tasks relating to web communication for both SBS and SAMF will be placed in the existing web centre in the central administration. There will be a more detailed clarification of tasks and resources in the web communication area, and it is therefore expected that the implementation will not take place until the turn of the year.

Based on the consultation period, adjustments have been made to the material that was distributed on 11 March 2026.

  • Educational communication (tasks such as production and marketing, strategy and communication in relation to education) is placed organisationally together with the other units in the administration centre to reduce complexity and ensure coherence in the administration centre.
  • Support for the strategic development of education, teaching and learning is divided into ideal types 1 and 2, where tasks in the current DKL hub are placed in the administration centre and management support is placed in the secretariats of the two faculties.
  • It has been clarified that in connection with the establishment of the administration centre, special attention must be paid to ensuring the best possible support for both faculties, regardless of different framework conditions in relation to a distributed campus geography, department structure, etc. This is an important basis for the further work on the combined administration.

The further process

There is now taken initiates to establish a joint programme for the combined administration with some tracks in the two faculty managements.

A first important step is dialogue with the affected employees, which will take place before 15 May 2026.

In the coming months, the joint programme will establish a SBS administration and a new joint administration centre. In the near future, there is a need for further description of the tasks, cooperation agreements must be drawn up, and the finances for the administration must be investigated. The focus is to establish a coherent and efficient administration that can support the operation and strategic development of SBS and SAMF with high quality.

The implementation activities in the overall programme must be completed in August, so that the new combined organisation can take effect on 1 September, at the same time as SBS is established as an independent faculty.

Acting Head of Secretariat at SBS

The working group's recommendations do not take a position on the specific organisation and distribution of tasks in the future SBS administration. This work is now anchored at SBS.

In order to ensure progress and clear managerial anchoring in the structure of the SBS administration, Jacob Kjær Eskildsen, Head of SBS, has decided to appoint the Head of Secretariat for SBS. The acting head of the secretariat is Johanna Süssmeir, who will be tasked with leading and coordinating the administrative work in the establishment phase and contributing to the clarification of the division of tasks and areas of cooperation.

The constitution is valid until the end of the year, after which it is expected that the position will be advertised.
