Registration extended: EPICUR Staff Week is open to all SDU employees

From 20 to 22 October 2026, SDU will host EPICUR Staff Week: From Teaching to Impact – Designing Education that Empowers Students to Create Value in Workplace and Society in Odense.

Staff Week is open to all SDU employees and is particularly relevant for teachers, educational developers and others working with education, learning and students’ competences.

Why you should participate

Staff Week gives participants the opportunity to work concretely with their own courses, teaching programmes or educational activities while also engaging in international exchange with colleagues from the EPICUR alliance. Through workshops and joint sessions, participants will gain inspiration on how teaching can be more closely linked to working life, societal relevance and the competences students need after graduation.

The aim is for participants to leave the event with concrete outcomes, such as sharper learning objectives linked to competences relevant to working life and society, adjusted learning activities and a concrete plan for how to implement the changes.

Keynote and workshop on value creation pedagogy

A central part of the programme is a keynote presentation and an interactive workshop with Martin Lackéus from Chalmers University of Technology in Gothenburg. He works with value creation pedagogy, an educational approach in which students work to create value in working life and society, and where teaching is linked to engagement, learning and societal relevance.
