New grant sparks new ideas
In December 2024, 10 SDU researchers received a well-deserved boost for their projects through SDU’s newest funding initiative – the Discovery Grant.
Fueling innovation and unlocking great potential, the new Discovery Grant is designed to support the unconventional, early-stage, or out-of-the-box ideas as they take flight.
Therefore, application requirements were kept to a minimum, allowing ideas with the potential to drive significant change in society to rise to the surface.
A Wealth of Diversity
In its inaugural round, the Discovery Grant has already proven its succes, attracting an impressive and diverse pool of 44 applicants from across all SDU faculties.

Next application round opens on March 3rd 2025. Deadline for applicants is May 4th.

Spanning a wide range of fields, from robotics and urban development to AI monitoring and dialogue tools, the selected projects are a testament to the wealth of innovation and creativity within the university.

The grant will fund key activities such as prototype development and consultancy support to help the projects move forward.
New Round of Applications
