SDU switches from the funding tool Research Professional to Pivot-RP
From February 1, 2026, SDU will use Pivot-RP as its main funding tool, replacing Research Professional. You can access Pivot-RP from December 1, 2025 and use features like personalized profiles and tailored funding alerts.
For more than 15 years, SDU’s researchers and research support staff have had access to the funding tool Research Professional (RP), which is a very broad funding database. Since Clarivate (the company behind RP) also offers the more modern tool Pivot-RP and no longer updates RP, SDU will transition to Pivot-RP from February 1, 2026. However, Pivot-RP will already be available from December 1, 2025, to smoothen the transition. An online introduction to Pivot-RP will be offered on January 9, 2026, from 11:00–12:00.
New features in Pivot-RP and first login
The Pivot-RP team has gathered public data on SDU’s researchers to offer personalised profiles in Pivot-RP to be used for automatic matching calls. Users can change their own data, define own interests and set up personalised alerts.
In order to exploit these features, users will have to claim their own profile at their first login. Users can then select “this is me” to claim their profile and Pivot-RP will send an email to the researcher to verify they are the owner of the profile selected. Thereafter, SSO is used for easy and fast login.
Existing Research Professional profiles and alerts
Unfortunately, it is not possible to transfer your old RP alerts and automatic searches to Pivot-RP. However, once a profile is claimed in Pivot-RP, the profile will activate the Pivot-RP weekly advisor alert funding recommendations for the user.
