ERC Advanced Grants

Aimed at established researchers, these grants fund groundbreaking research projects. Applicants should have a significant track record of scientific achievements.

ERC Consolidator Grants

These grants target researchers at the consolidation stage of their career. Applicants typically have 7 to 12 years of experience post-PhD.

ERC proof of concept grants

Aimed at researchers who have already been awarded one of the above ERC grants and who are willing to explore the commercial or societal potential of their work. The Principal Investigator must be able to demonstrate the relation between the idea to be taken to proof of concept and the previously funded ERC research project.

ERC Starting Grants

Designed for researchers with less than 7 years of experience post-PhD, having proved the ability to perform independent research.

ERC Synergy Grants

Aimed at a group of two to maximum four researchers (Principal Investigators (PIs)) working together and bringing different skills and resources to tackle ambitious research problems. One will be designated as the corresponding PI (cPI).
