A.P. Møller foundation

The A.P. Møller Foundation has a special focus on non-profit purposes, the cohesion between Denmark and the other Nordic countries, Danish culture in the Danish-German borderland, Danish shipping and industry as well as science, including especially medicine.

Augustinus Foundation

The Augustinus Foundation is one of Denmark's largest cultural foundations, and the emphasis of philanthropic work is primarily within art and culture, but the foundation also supports research and social initiatives in Denmark and internationally.

Beta.Health

Beta.Health innovation grants aim to boost innovation projects at Danish hospitals.

Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation

The Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation supports Grand Challenges which is a family of initiatives fostering innovation to solve key global health and development problems. Each initiative is an experiment in the use of challenges to focus innovation on making an impact.

Carlsberg Foundation

The Carlsberg Foundation supports visionary and innovative basic scientific research. The foundation is developing science through its extensive support for outstanding basic research within the natural sciences, social sciences and humanities.

Danida - Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Denmark

Danida supports exchange in equal partnerships between educational institutions and partners in developing countries working for sustainable development through education. For example through digital co-learning, exchanges, internships, twinning schools or twinning.

Danish Cancer Society (kræftens bekæmpelse)

The Danish Cancer Society supports free and strategic research funding. The free funds are not allocated to special research areas, and can be applied for broadly. The strategic funds, including the Knæk Cancer funds, is prioritised for research in selected areas to promote these areas.

Danish Energy Agency EUDP

The Danish Energy Agency supports new technology in the energy area that can contribute to meeting Denmark's energy and climate objectives.

Danish National Research Foundation

The objective of the DNRF Chair grant is to support and boost the start-up research activities of potential or newly recruited outstanding tenured professors at Danish universities right from the beginning of their employment. The foundation welcomes applications within and/or across all research areas: Humanities, Life Sciences, Natural Sciences, Social Sciences, and Technical Sciences.

Danish Translational Hub (DTH)

Danish Translational Hub (DTH) works for more interdisciplinary research that has greater impact on patients, the healthcare system and socio-economics. It is possible to apply for discovery funds to get a interdisciplinary and translational project going. This involves research from OUH, RSD Psychiatry, all SDUs faculties and Life Science industry partners.

EIC Funding

The European Innovation Council (EIC) has been established under the EU Horizon Europe programme. It supports game changing innovations throughout the lifecycle from early stage research, to proof of concept, technology transfer, and the financing and scale up of start-ups and SME’s.

Grønt Udviklings- og DemonstrationsProgram (GUDP)

GUDP supports development projects within the entire food sector in Denmark across the value chain. The projects must contribute with solutions to the environmental and climate challenges facing society in a business-oriented way, and all projects must have effects on both green and economic parameters.

Health Insurance DENMARK

"Denmark" supports projects within health-related research, knowledge dissemination and preventive measures that can potentially benefit the Danish society. There are three application categories: Health research, which includes all research projects, as well as health prevention and health information, both of which include all non-research projects.

The Industry’s Foundation is concerned with supporting where others do not. It focuses on making new knowledge available to everyone to promote a strong business community in a global and increasingly specialised competition.

InnoExplorer Grant

The Innoexplorer is a grant to employees at public research and educational institutions and hospitals who have created a research result with commercial potential. The result should still be at a pre-commercial stage where clarification or maturity is required to establish whether it can be further developed in preparation for commercial or societal exploitation.

Leducq Foundation

The Leducq Foundation supports the development of innovative technology for the diagnosis and treatment of cardiovascular disease and stroke.

Lego Foundation

The Lego Foundation is making learning through play a priority for every child. The foundation is working with all kinds of partners, including parents, teachers, caregivers, policymakers, academics, businesses, grassroots organisations, NGO’s and governments worldwide.

Lundbeck Foundation

The Lundbeck Foundation is a foundation which creates value funding Danish-based research that results in a better understanding of the brain and better prevention, diagnosis and treatment of brain diseases.

National Cancer Institute (US)

The National Cancer Institute coordinates the United States National Cancer Program. The Insitute conducts and supports research, training, health information dissermination and the other activities related to the causes, prevention, diagnosis and treatment of cancer; the supportive care of cancer patients and their families and cancr survivorship.

National Institute of Health

The National Institutes of Health is the largest public funder of biomedical research in the world. The organization supports research seeking to enhance life, and to reduce illness and disability.

Nordea Foundation

The Nordea-fonden supports the good life. It donates for projects within four focus areas: health, exercise, nature and culture. In addition it supports initatives promoting vocational education.

Novo Nordisk Foundation

The Novo Nordisk Foundation is a foundation with corporate interests that supports scientific, humanitarian and social causes. The foundation awards grants based on applications in open competition and supports a number of different areas within health, sustainability and life science.

Odense Robotics Startup Fund

The Odense Robotics StartUp Fund supports ambitious robotics and drone entrepreneurs from Denmark and abroad by providing access to founder-friendly investment and cutting-edge know-how.

OUH's og Rigshospitalet’s joint funds for research

The two Danish hospitals supports joint research within those specialties where they already have or are expected to have a close collaboration on patients.

Peter Due Jensen Foundation

The Poul Due Jensen’s Foundation supports selected research environments, especially within natural and technical sciences and initiatives that inspire children and young people to explore science and technology.

Pioneer Innovator Grant (NNF)

The Pioneer Innovator Grant are aimed at supporting novel academic science-based discoveries with a commercial potential. The grant aims to stimulate the evaluation of ideas and to support experiments and activities leading to proof-of-concept or beyond.

Realdania Foundation

The Realdania Foundation works to set new agendas through a problem-oriented approach, and it wants to contribute to overcoming social challenges, in partnership with others, by developing and changing the built environment.

Salling Fondene

The Salling Fondene support projects and initiatives within arts and culture, church, sports, education, research, innovation and worthy causes.

SDU Climate Cluster

Fast-track projects last up to a year and can achieve funding of up to 100,000 DKK. The fast track instruments must be used for support of free research ideas and hypothesis and for establishment of pilot projects within interdisciplinary climate research, which can form basis for large external research applications later on.

Spark Denmark

SPARK Denmark is a mentoring program that supports academic inventions in life science with tailored mentorship from industry experts, education within innovation, and financial support.

The Human Frontier Science Program (HFSP)

The Human Frontier Science Program (HFSP) supports projects that challenge existing paradigms by using novel approaches and techniques. To stimulate daring ideas and innovative approaches which entail risks, preliminary results are not required in research grant applications.

The TrygFonden works with the challenges that have the greatest impact on security throughout life. The foundation has five overall focus areas, which are children and adolescents, adults, older, security in everyday life and strong framework for security.
