Week 44 - Ongoing information about the analysis of the study administration

In this week's news, you can read about the status of the analysis' two tracks: mapping and vision.

Status of the mapping track

Carve has received a large amount of material from various units on educational administrative tasks. Carve is also currently processing the specified purpose accounts, which, among other things, shows resources spent on educational management and administration. Thank you for your contributions so far.

Carve is in the process of identifying which managers will be relevant to interview and engage in dialogue with. The purpose of the dialogue with the managers is to get a more complete overview of the educational administration as well as any challenges encountered and possible improvements. Interviews with managers will be conducted in November.

Status on the vision track

The second track is about formulating a more general vision for what SDU’s educational administration must be able to do in 3-5 years. The vision is based on changes around the university in relation to political reforms (e.g. regionalisation, new admissions system), economic changes (e.g. increased focus on further and continuing education), socio-demographic shifts (e.g. decreasing youth cohorts) and new technologies (e.g. new study information system).

This week, the consultancy Carve held a vision workshop with the monitoring task force. At the workshop, the task force provided input about and qualified some of the challenges faced by SDU’s educational administration, both now and within the next few years. Over the next few weeks, work will be continued on the vision, which will serve as an overall benchmark for Carve’s recommendations for task performance within SDU’s educational administration.
