Week 45 - Ongoing information about the analysis of the study administration

In this week's news, you can read about the status of the analysis' two tracks: mapping and vision.

Status of the mapping track

This week, Carve has been working further within the mapping track to qualify data from the distribution account, which shows, for instance, resources that are used for education management and administration.

Carve has identified which managers it will be relevant to interview and to enter dialogue with. The dialogue with the managers is in order to get a more complete overview of the study administration as well as any challenges and possible improvements. This week, invitations will be issued for interviews, which will be held in November.

Status of the vision track

The second track is about formulating a more general vision for what SDU’s study administration should be able to do in 3–5 years. The vision is based on changes happening at the University in relation to political reforms (e.g. regionalisation, new admissions system), economic changes (e.g. increased focus on further and continuing education), socio-demographic shifts (e.g. decreasing youth cohorts) and new technologies (e.g. new study information system).

Last week, Carve held a vision workshop with the working group. At the workshop, the working group provided input to and qualified some of the challenges faced by SDU’s study administration, both now and in the years ahead. This week, Carve will follow up on the input and prepare for the next meeting of the working group, which will be held in Week 47. The vision will serve as a general point of orientation for Carve’s recommendations for SDU’s study administrative task solution.
