The union representative’s most important tasks include the following:
- Salary negotiations
- Negotiation of salaries and allowances for new employees
- Member cases, e.g. in case of illness, warnings, dismissals, employment on special terms
- Participation in and preparation for liaison committee meetings
- Interviews with and briefing of the members whom the union representative represents
