Career and Skills Development – a shared responsibility

SDU aims to:

  • Offer attractive career paths and support mobility and career development both within and beyond the university.
  • Foster a culture characterized by curiosity, innovation, education, and continuous learning.
  • Create frameworks where all employees experience opportunities and receive support to realize their potential.
  • Ensure access to relevant competence development offerings.

Shared Frameworks and Strategic Direction

Career and skills development at SDU is a priority and a shared responsibility, supported by clear frameworks and direction so that the entire organisation evolves and adapts to changes in our external environment, with the university’s strategic ambitions as a foundation.

The Committee for Career and Skills Development, appointed by the Central Liaison Committee, is responsible for translating the university’s strategy into an action plan that concretizes ambitions and ensures ongoing follow-up and development.

The Action Plan for Career and Skills Development provides a framework for:

  • A high level of competence across the university.
  • Excellent professional and collaborative environments.
  • Transparent development opportunities and career paths, as well as access to feedback and guidance.

The annual discussion of career and skills development at departments, faculty secretariats, and in Central Administration ensures that offerings and priorities are based on real needs in academic environments and are anchored throughout the organisation.
