About quality assurance

The fruits of experience exchange

For SAK KVAL, the exchange of experience is an investment that benefits the entire organisation

SAK KVAL is SDU’s study administrative coordination group for education quality, and it works continuously to maintain and further develop excellent education. Among other things, the group focuses on revising principles and frameworks under SDU’s quality system; on quality assurance of applications in relation to pre-qualification; and on the exchange of experience, which the members of the group are committed to cultivating through presentations of faculty initiatives.

Experience exchange inspires SAK KVAL members

Recently, the Faculty of Humanities (HUM) talked about the ‘Educational journey’, which gives the study programmes, study boards, the Faculty and SDU RIO a collective picture of employability activities at the curricular, the co-curricular and the extra-curricular levels. The ‘Educational journey’ is part of the Faculty’s work with the education reports.

The Faculty of Health Sciences (SUND) has presented the Faculty’s work with developing an action package on dropout, which is to be coordinated with the systematic education management. In this way, the action package is used to develop targeted initiatives for areas such as dropout, study intensity and response rates, with the aim of framing and supporting the head of studies’ work.

Experience exchange highlights the need for analytical insights

The initiatives from HUM and SUND are examples of the broad need for analytical support in the organisation, which is a recurring point of discussion at meetings of SAK KVAL. The group has therefore brought together the different needs in a collective annual cycle to ensure both an overview of what needs arise throughout the year and the timely analytical support of the education-related work on quality.

The content of the annual cycle is selected based on the knowledge that is necessary for relevant actors to meet the requirements of the quality policy. The annual cycle spans two years and covers all study programmes at SDU, including summer and winter admissions as well as full-time and part-time programmes.
