Opening hours during summer break

Student enquiries at faculty and joint administrative units

Summer is here, and many SDU employees are taking a well-earned break. Therefore, the opening hours of faculty and joint administrative units that receive enquiries from students may also differ from usual.

Here on the site, we have compiled the opening hours of the most used units and services that applicants and students may want to use during the summer, so you can find information if you need it.

Education

Students and others can find information about the dates of study board meetings, as well as application deadlines and so on, via the programme pages on MitSDU.

Go to mitsdu.dk/studienaevn and select your programme of study from the list.

The study boards and secretariats of the study boards at the Faculty of Science will be closed during July.

Information about the next programme committee meeting can be found on the programme pages on MitSDU. Go to mitsdu.dk/studienaevn and select your programme of study from the list.

HEALTH Education will have reduced staffing during summer, and some enquiries may be so specific that you may be asked to wait until the relevant employee is back from holiday before you receive a reply.

TEK Programme coordination and support will be closed during week 29 and 30.

Programme Coordinators, who provide specific study counselling will not be available during weeks 27-32Otherwise, the Programme Coordinators' holidays appear from their specific out-of-office message.

Summer staffing levels vary across the Planning teams. Below you will find an overview of opening hours, holiday closures and other arrangements for the summer of 2026.

If you are unsure who to contact, you can write to the team’s general mailbox. Contact details for the individual teams can be found at sdunet.dk/planning.

If you have an enquiry that requires urgent attention whilst a team is closed, you can contact Head of Department Mathias Boeberg at matni@sdu.dk or Deputy Head Dorthe Majlund Sørensen at dks@sdu.dk. However, depending on the grade of your enquiry, it may be necessary to wait for a final response until the team is back and fully staffed.

HUM Planning

HUM Planning will be operating with a reduced staff during weeks 29 and 31, and longer processing times should therefore be expected during these periods.

HUM Planning will be closed for the summer holidays in week 30.

During the other weeks, HUM Planning will be available as usual.

Enquiries to HUM Planning should continue to be made via the individual programmes of study’s functional mailboxes – see sdunet.dk/planning.

SUND Planning

SUND Planning will remain open throughout the summer, and the functional mailbox planning-sund@sdu.dk will be staffed throughout the holiday period.

NAT Planning

NAT Planning will be closed in weeks 29 and 30 (13–24 July 2026).

TEK Planning

TEK Planning will not be closed for the entire weeks during the summer of 2026.

However, due to holidays, the shared mailbox will not be monitored on the following days:

  • 13 July
  • 17 July
  • 24 July

The degree programme secretaries will be on holiday at various times during weeks 27–32. Further details can be found in their automatic replies.

SAMF Planning

SAMF Planning will be open as usual, with the following exceptions:

  • Examinations will be closed in weeks 28, 29 and 30.
  • Timetables will be closed in weeks 29, 30 and 31.

Staff will be on holiday at various times throughout the summer. Further details can be found in their automatic replies.

Contact with SAMF Planning should continue to be made via the usual channels for staff and programmes.

Please note that the functional mailbox planning-samf@sdu.dk will not be monitored in week 29.

EVU Planning

EVU Planning will be closed in weeks 29 and 30 (13–24 July 2026).

Counselling & other services

Students and staff can acces the University of Southern Denmark's Library 24/7.

Otherwise, service hours will be as follows:

Odense:
Monday–Friday: 9:00 a.m.–3:00 p.m., 10:00 a.m.-2:00 p.m. during weeks 29 and 30

Esbjerg, Kolding og Sønderborg:
Weeks 28-32:
Monday–Friday: 10:00 a.m.–2:00 p.m.

Slagelse:
Monday–Thursday: 10:00 a.m.–1:00 p.m.. In week 29 no staff will be available for enquiries in person, but staff and students can acces the Library.

SDU Odense, IT

Opening hours on the phone are unchanged - read more on mitsdu.dk/it.

Opening hours for physical attendance are as follows:
1–27 July 2026 (both days inclusive, except for weekends) 10:00 a.m.–2:00 p.m.
28 July–14 August 2026 (both days inclusive, except for weekends): Monday - Thursday 8:00 a.m.–4:00 p.m., Friday 8:00 a.m.–3:00 p.m.

During weeks 28, 29 and 30, the International Office will be closed at Zonen on the SDU Odense campus and will not be available by telephone. Please expect longer response times to enquiries.
