Competency development

If you are a lecturer or work in educational administration, this page offers a selection of internal and external competence development opportunities in the field of education.

You will find offerings for both new and seasoned employees at SDU. We also have offerings for both Danish and non-Danish colleagues.

The list is not exhaustive; it is only intended to serve as inspiration.

SDU’s competence development opportunities

You or your department are always welcome to submit a request to the library for a custom-designed course, held either at your premises or at the library.

Library

SDU is committed to giving you the opportunity to develop your skills to help you realise your potential for your own and SDU’s benefit.

For example, you can learn about setting up your course in itslearning, about motivational teaching, about educational quality and much more.

SDU staff courses

Mobility gives employees new skills and strengthens the organisation. SDU therefore supports: Parental leave rotations, Erasmus+ stays and Sabbaticals.

Various information for new employees about competencies and networks, the organisation, day of introduction and much more.

For new employees

You can get support and assistance with challenges in your own performance of tasks in relation to students. The support consists of offerings to both academic and technical/administrative staff, study boards and other advisory units at SDU.

Language

As a lecturer at SDU, you can benefit from a wide range of courses on higher education pedagogy offered by SDUUP (the SDU Centre for Teaching and Learning).

For example, you can choose from higher education and e-learning pedagogy courses or contact SDUUP for consultancy and advice.

External competence development opportunities

AEU was established by Universities Denmark with the aim of providing targeted continuing education for administrative staff in the university sector and ensuring knowledge sharing between universities.

The Danish Accreditation Institution gathers and disseminates knowledge that can support the development of quality assurance and educational quality across higher education and other stakeholders in the sector. The dissemination formats include conferences and seminars.

Knowledge projects and activities (external page, in Danish)

The interest group of the eight Danish universities, DKUNI promotes cooperation, visibility and impact of the universities. DKUNI’s mission is to ensure the best possible conditions for universities to fulfil their social responsibilities: research, research-based education and knowledge sharing.

Through dedicated committees and working groups, DKUNI purposefully invites members to relevant conferences, webinars and dialogue meetings.

DUN is an interdisciplinary higher education organisation whose aim is to promote knowledge and competence in all forms of teaching and learning in higher education. Through DUN, Danish universities can achieve a joint quality boost in more areas than is possible individually. DUN strengthens the national level in research and development by focusing on quality in teaching and education, both academically and politically.

DUN brings together educators, educational developers and researchers to share knowledge, experience and ideas by organising a range of educational activities in higher education.

EVA makes education better – through evaluations, analyses and tools that help develop quality. Among other things, EVA offers a number of webinars.

The activities of NUAS have a developmental and interdisciplinary focus, aiming to collaborate on the improvement and professionalisation of administrative solutions in the university sector.
