Open Science

Research groups recognised for open research

Four research groups at SDU will soon be able to display an Open Science Champion Award in their offices. This year’s awards will be presented at Philoteket on 19 October, the opening day of International Open Access Week. This year’s awards go to:
  • Faculty of Science
Physics, Department of Physics, Chemistry and Pharmacy. Head: Adam Cohen Simonsen.
  • Faculty of Business and Social Sciences
Interactive Innovation. Head: Ann H. Clarke.
  • Faculty of Engineering
SDU Innovation and Design Engineering, Department of Technology and Innovation. Head: Lykke Margot Ricard.
  • Faculty of Health Sciences
Three groups share the top position:
    • Prehospital Research Unit, Department of Regional Health Research. Head: Søren Mikkelsen.
    • Research Unit of Respiratory Medicine, Department of Clinical Research. Head: Christian B. Laursen.
    • Health Promotion and Interventions, National Institute of Public Health. Head: Susan Andersen.
The recipients have been identified using the library’s OADO indicator: Open Access, Data and Outreach. The model uses information registered in Pure to highlight research environments’ work with open access, research data and research communication.  The Open Science Champion Award is part of the University Library’s work to monitor the implementation of SDU’s Open Science Policy, which provides the overall framework for the University’s work with, among other things, open access to research publications and research data. The award also aims to highlight researchers and research environments that actively contribute to a more open research culture.
  • The awards will be presented on Monday, 19 October at 13:00 at Philoteket, University Library of Southern Denmark, Odense.
Anyone interested is welcome to attend.
