There are 9 electric cars ready for use in Odense, but for those from TEK, it means a walk to Fioniavej.
9 new electric cars in Odense are now ready for booking
As planned, 9 new electric cars have arrived at SDU in Odense, and as an employee, you can now book them in Mileage Book if you need a car. However, there are challenges with the charging stations and keyless operation, which will mean the following for you:
Status on charging stations
The plan was to start with electric cars at both P8 (the parking lot at Fioniavej) and P1 (the parking lot at TEK). However, there were challenges in connecting power to the charging stations at P1. Since there is no timeline for when power can be connected at P1, Technical Services has decided to move all electric cars to P8 so that they can at least be used now - also for TEK employees.
This means that as a TEK employee, you will need to walk over to P8 at Fioniavej if you have booked an electric car.
Keys to be collected at Logistics
Although the plan was to avoid keys entirely when using electric cars, the test period with the ID.4 cars has shown that the technology is not yet stable enough. Therefore, the keys must be collected at Logistics. Technical Services is working on a smarter and more user-friendly solution for key handling.
More electric cars on the way
For those of you who find the walk to P8 a bit long, there is good news: A new tender for more electric cars is underway, and the electric cars should be available at P1 by the end of 2026. This means even better accessibility and more green miles for all of us.
