Status of the restructuring, continuous updates

The transition phase is now underway

Most employees will continue with their current tasks during the initial period. The focus is now on describing the tasks with a clear division of responsibilities and establishing good relationships in the new contexts to ensure stable operations during the transition period.

By Stinne Hørup Hansen, Deputy Director of Studies, 1/8/2026

We have now entered the transition phase that we have often talked about. Initially, all employees will continue in their current functions and tasks, unless otherwise agreed.

This means that many will not experience major changes in their everyday work in the beginning. There will be changes, but in the initial period it's mainly on the management side.

The most important thing right now is that everyone has time to settle in and time to create new, good working relationships under new leaders.

Collaboration agreements make tasks and workflows clear

Many people are naturally concerned about collaboration agreements and the division of responsibilities, and it's important for me to say that our focus in the coming period is to clarify the final division of tasks and create a clear understanding of the division of tasks between the faculties' study administrations and SDU Education. The agreements must also make it clear to lecturers what the workflows look like.

New Head of Department for Planning

With the appointment of Mathias Boeberg as Head of Department, the management framework in Planning will be in place when he takes up his position on 1 February 2026.

Mathias has worked in the field of programme administration for several years and most recently came from a position as head of section for two programme administrations at UCL Business Academy and University College. Some may also remember Mathias from SDU, where he was previously head of function and subject coordinator for exams and teaching planning at SAMF.

Mathias Boeberg says:

– I am very much looking forward to joining SDU Planning and SDU Education and to contributing to the process that SDU has initiated with, among other things, the merging of exam and teaching planning in Planning. Together with the team leaders, I look forward to ensuring that the employees settle well into the new organisation, while ensuring that we deliver safe operations in the business-critical task that the unit performs.

Happy New Year

I wish everyone a happy new year – a bit late. I hope you've had a good start to the year – and thank you for your efforts and continued contribution to a good transition phase.
