The attractive workplace
New flexitime agreement for technical and administrative staff at SDU
A new joint flexitime agreement for technical and administrative staff (TAP) at SDU has now come into effect. The agreement has been made between SDU’s management and union representatives. The agreement is effective from 1 April 2026 and replaces previous flexitime agreements at the university.
The agreement establishes a common framework for flexitime across SDU and aims to support a balanced workday with flexibility – while ensuring the university’s tasks are carried out efficiently.
Like SDU’s personnel policy, the agreement is based on trust, responsibility, and ongoing dialogue. The agreement is designed to allow local adaptation, where the specific arrangements are tailored to the tasks, staffing, and work methods of individual units.
What does the agreement mean in daily life?
The agreement outlines, among other things:
- that you can plan your working hours within the framework of the agreement
- that you must register arrival and departure times as well as absences
- how many flex hours you can have in surplus and deficit at the end of the month
- that it is your manager’s responsibility to monitor the flexitime balance and support the prioritisation of tasks
- that you must engage in dialogue if tasks cannot be completed within working hours.
- that flexitime is taken in dialogue with your manager and colleagues, with due consideration to ensuring that the department’s tasks are covered and completed satisfactorily
Who is covered?
The flexitime agreement covers technical and administrative monthly-paid staff (TAP) at SDU.
The agreement does not cover chief consultants, senior consultants, TAP managers who are self-schedulers, or TAP staff employed in flex jobs. For these groups as well, SDU strives to be an attractive workplace with flexible frameworks that support both the employees’ and the university’s needs.
