MedTech Odense

MedTech Odense is a powerhouse that brings together research, clinical environments and companies to develop and spread new healthcare technologies. Based on strong research and innovation environments, the partnership works to translate concrete clinical needs into applied solutions.

A central part of the effort is to accelerate research and innovation projects through targeted funding. MedTech Odense invests in projects with the potential to create the healthcare technologies of the future and makes funding available that serves as stepping stones to mature ideas, solutions and collaborations from idea to clinic and market.

There is a focus on solutions that are realisable and which over time are commercially scalable in a healthcare context, and which can thereby make a difference for patient treatments across the healthcare system.

  
Funding

MedTech Odense offers funding where researchers and clinicians can apply for funds to bring healthcare technological ideas further in the development.

In 2025, 21 projects were supported with close to DKK 20 million, and in 2026 up to DKK 19 million has been earmarked. The funds can be applied for by employees at the University of Southern Denmark and in the Region of Southern Denmark – preferably in collaboration with others, so that ideas can grow across disciplines, institutions and key actors.
