Elections to the health and safety organisation at SDU

A good working environment is created in day-to-day life, and SDU needs a qualified and targeted effort that both prevents problems and helps to develop the university as a workplace. As set out in SDU’s staff policy, professional excellence and well-being must go hand in hand, and all staff must experience – and contribute to – an inclusive and engaging working environment with good conditions for carrying out their work to a high professional standard.

The health and safety organisation plays a key role in developing a healthy, safe and engaging working environment and, thereby, in realising SDU’s Strategy 2030. It helps to translate the university’s ambitions into concrete practice and ensures that staff members’ experiences, perspectives and suggestions are considered in decisions concerning working life at SDU.

The role of the health and safety representative

SDU’s health and safety representatives play a vital role as a link between colleagues, management and the health and safety organisation. As a health and safety representative, you help to put health and safety on the agenda, support dialogue at a local level and contribute to solutions that make a difference in everyday life – both for your immediate colleagues and for SDU. You’ll be given time to carry out your health and safety duties, can share knowledge through a network with other health and safety representatives, and will have access to opportunities to develop and maintain your skills in both physical and psychological health and safety.

The election will take place this autumn

Elections to the health and safety organisation will begin on 7 September and must be completed by 2 October at the latest.

Elections to the Campus Health and Safety Committee (CAMU), the Faculty Health and Safety Committees, the Central Administration Health and Safety Committee (FAMU) and the General Occupational Health and Safety Committee (HOAMU) will take place in November.
