• What is decided?

  It has been decided that printing services will be provided by an external supplier in the future. The printing function in the Graphic Centre will be phased out as an internal function and the task will be handled by an external supplier found through a tender process.

  The change will take effect from the beginning of 2027, with printing in the Graphic Centre continuing as before throughout 2026.

• Why has the decision been made?

  The background is that the printing centre is facing a need for significant investments in new machinery. After an overall assessment, it has been decided that an external solution best supports future financial sustainability, while SDU continues to have flexible access to a wide range of printing services.

• Is the decision an expression of dissatisfaction with the printing company?

  No, it is not. The print shop in the Graphic Centre currently provides a well-functioning and valued service with high user satisfaction. The decision is based on an overall assessment of future financial sustainability and the need for investment in machinery.

• What does this mean for me as a user in 2026?

  For users, nothing will change in 2026. The print shop will continue as before and the service level will be maintained.

• Will the service change when an external supplier takes over?

  The aim is that the transition to a new model should not affect the service level for users. The goal is that ordering and delivery will continue to be simple, flexible and secure. The final organisation and financial model for the new solution is not yet in place, but will be announced once it has been clarified.

• Can I still get help with printed matter in 2026?

  Yes, you can. The print shop in the Graphic Centre will continue to provide printing services throughout 2026.

• What is happening with the graphic consultancy?

  The graphic consultancy and design tasks will continue as an internal service in the Graphic Centre. The decision only concerns the printing function.

• Does this mean that the graphic designers will also disappear?

  No, it does not. The graphic designers will continue their work and will continue to help SDU's employees with graphic advice, layout and ensuring SDU's visual identity.

• Who ensures SDU's visual identity when printed matter is produced externally?

  The graphic expertise is maintained internally in the Graphic Centre. This means that SDU will continue to have internal help with layout, design and brand identity, even when materials are printed by an external supplier in the future.

• What does this mean for the employees in the print shop?

  The change will not result in redundancies.

• How will the external supplier be found?

  The external supplier is found through a tendering process.
