SciVal is a web based analysis tool that offers access to the research performance of more than 14.000 research institutions and 230 nations worldwide using bibliometrics.
It enables the user to visualize research performance, benchmark relative to peers, develop collaborative partnerships and analyze research trends. The data source for SciVal metrics is the Scopus database.
In Elsevier’s SciVal Metrics Guidebook more detailed information on the metrics can be found. See link to the right. The system also offers quick guides to get one started.
SDU has a license to selected modules. SDU Analytics has purchased an additional license to the Trends module as it enriches the analytical possibilities. All the modules are available for all SDU employees.
SDU Analytics does not provide support on the use of Scival.
