Access to Monitor Media

The library provides access to ten different monitor media, which are news outlets offering various perspectives on the welfare society.

As an SDU employee, you have access to a range of subject-specific monitor media from JP/Politikens Hus, which gather news, analyses, and trends across sectors. The monitor media can serve as a supplement to other news sources provided by the library, such as Infomedia, PressReader, Browzine, and Watchmedier. See the article on different media access in Bib Nyt, June 2025.

The monitor media provide a practical overview of current developments and agendas in Denmark (therefor only in Danish), offering access to analyses and updates on, for example, political decisions, educational matters, research developments, working life, and business.

Here is a centralized access point to Monitor Media available from SDU: 

• Sports Monitor - about the conditions for sports 
• Culture Monitor - about cultural life 
• School Monitor - about primary and secondary education 
• Urban Space Monitor - about urban development 
• Health Monitor - about the healthcare system
• Climate Monitor - about the green transition 
• Tourism Monitor - about developments in the tourism sector 
• Social Monitor - about children and adults in vulnerable positions 
• Senior Monitor - about the conditions for the elderly and seniors 
• Education Monitor - about developments in the education sector

Alternatively, each Monitor Media can be searched directly through the library's search interface, giving you access via the University Library of Southern Denmark.

Monitor media from JP/Politikens Hus are independent outlets registered with the Press Council. They are published digitally and require a subscription. When you access them through the library, you gain full access, allowing you to use the media in your work without individual subscriptions.
